Note that it runs from Programs(X86) so is presumably 32 bit.  I don't 
think Win7 Pro or XP compatibility mode is required.  I heard that XP 
compatibility mode has problems with drivers... I think only USB is 
supported.  Just follow the instructions above... meticulously.

One other possible stumbling block is that this scanner's electrical 
interface is FireWire, not USB.  You will need a FireWire adapter 
installed in your new computer if you don't have one already.
