I suggest you and Peter take a close look at the GX7, you for left eyed
viewing, Peter for responsiveness.

The viewfinder is on the far left corner and virtually all controls far to the
right. As expected, there is absolutely
no shutter shock with the shutter on electronic, and it sounds/feels much
quicker without the 1/8 second anti-shock of
the Olys.

Whether it's really faster, I don't know, but feeling that it is responsive may
be part of the battle. Then, viewing
right eyed, the left eye is free to view the scene in human real time for
catching that elu/decisive moment.

OK, I'll bite. Please comment by category:

1. IQ. I'm just not seeing significant improvements in the image files in
samples. The latest Panny 16mp is still
cleaner at pixel level and any given ISO.

2. Ergonomics. I know this is a big deal for you, and you will go thumbs up or
down on a camera based on it alone.

3. Usability with 4/3 lenses.

4. Other factors. WiFi, etc. I know the noise about shutter shock is less with
the E-M1, but, absent further info, I
think it's the same shutter mechanism, simply causing less trouble in the
heavier body. Particularly possible with
testers like DPR, who spent most of their time with the heavy 12-40/2.8
attached. I'm betting it's still there, less
obvious, just waiting to bite at the most inopportune moment.

Obviously, I'm trying to get at for whom it might be a worthwhile upgrade. If
your opinion is 80% ergonomics, it's of
little use to me, as I am quite happy with the ergos on the E-M5
