When we lived in Iran, we often got Tehran Tummy. All of the vegetables in
the market were sprinkled often with water from the jube - the open sewer
that runs through town. When we took vegetables home, we had to wash
everything in Rocal - which I'm sure was a powerful poison! We always said
if you lived to be 5 years old in Iran, you had already had every disease
possible and would live forever!
