Sooo, I stopped in at another camera store tonight. This one had both
the A7 and A7R in stock, so I got to try out the difference in shutter
noise between the cameras.
I asked my daughter what she thought of the difference in sound.
She basically shrugged her shoulder in the way that only a completely
disinterested teenage girl can do and said "huh?"
There really is a difference between the two cameras, but only
noticable when doing an A/B comparison. Honestly, it's still quieter
than the typical DSLR or at worst the same as a typical DSLR. I really
do have to laugh about the fora comments on the A7R. I wanna say "You
call that noisy? That's not noisy. Now THIS is noisy!" At that point,
I pull out a Bronica.
I will say that this camera (either version) is starting to grow on me.
