My younger son is a beer aficionado, so his job as graphic artist for a new
brewery is quite wonderful for him. He's
also an investor.

We've been waiting for months as the seemingly endless process of creation of
brewery and beers has proceeded at a
stately pace. We skipped the first couple of events in SF, guessing correctly
that they would be insanely crowded, noisy
and without food.

This tasting closer to home in a recently opened brew restaurant was more to
our taste. Arriving before opening, we
waited in line, but got a table. When we left, it was SRO in the bar space,
there was still a line and a 20 minute wait
to get a table - on a Sunday evening.

This place mat for the tasting sampler features Nick's drawings as corner
embellishments and his logo for Faction
Brewery. <http://zone-10.com/tope2/main.php?g2_itemId=9368>

Here's the loaded sampler and a very nice beet salad.

The restaurant makes their own sausages, so we of course had a sausage sandwich
sampler, too. All shared by Carol and
Moose. Good food.

Hard to really tell about the beer. It takes me more than tastes, all mixed up,
to tell what I like. It's a good stout,
but I'm not a stout guy; Carol loved it. The pale ales were pretty good. The
IPAs are harder. At first I thought I
didn't much like the Winter one, but it grew on me.

It's kind of fun hanging around as one's son is treated like a minor rock star.
It turns out he is quite good at
schmoozing and working a crowd, so he has become part of the public face of the
brewery.

Proud Father Moose
