It's probably the other crud they put in the fuel these days. All
fuels have solvents added now. If you drive very little, Ethanol can
mess up some stuff, but I almost always use it and have never ever had
a fuel line or fuel filter problem. I take my vehicles up to the
150,000-200,000 mile category too.
Regardless, let's not get into the lie about ethanol being energy
negative. It's entirely not true and is a lie that originated from the
oil industry itself during the methanol/ethanol wars. It's been
perpuated by the pointy-headed intellectuals at the ivy league
colleges who have never even seen a combine in their lives and think
that everybody west of the Hudson River are hayseed rednecks. If these
pointy-headed intellectuals would actually USE their brains instead of
sticking to a party-line mantra, they'd recognize the lie. But they
won't, and even if they did, they wouldn't admit it because peer
review is by other idiots like them. Meanwhile, the talking heads on
television won't even do basic research to find out that it's a lie.
Therefore, everybody on the east coast has a negative view of ethanol
just because they've been lied to.
Worst of all, we keep electing presidents that have law degrees from
Yale/Harvard, being taught by these idiot pointy-headed intellectuals.
