[OM] Merits of trading down, from an OM3TI to an OM3?

I'm thinking of trading down, from an OM3TI to an OM3?

Is that good, bad or indifferent?

I've read that the OM3TI was built better than the OM3.  Is there truth 
to that?

I also understand that the OM3TI had a generation's worth of 
improvements in the electronics and mechanics.  Is that also true?

 From what I see, I "save" $1K, which can to towards other toys.
