That's why I approached the matching problem differently. That vacuum
variable capacitor sits at a point where the voltage gradient is highest, and
it obligates you to use a non-metallic drive shaft to adjust it.

I just use a varactor-tuned loop now that tunes 5.5-15MHz. Much more
convenient.
