Chuck,

I do the same as you.  I have a 2007 Volvo V70 that sits in the garage 
except for trips.  It doesn't accrue miles very fast.  My local driving 
falls to the old Volvo and old pickup.  They get an occasional run on the 
road to blow them out, but spend their lives around town.

It works for me.
