I agree - very good rendering of the atmosphere of the present-day station
(which I used every working day for 15 years, indeed matching Philippe
Amard's recollection "dusty, smelly and windy", and its twin at the other
end of the line was the same). 

But I don't agree that Victoria is the station to use if flying to Gatwick -
I have flown in and out of Gatwick on literally hundreds of occasions, using
Victoria perhaps a dozen times. Look for trains with destination Luton or
Bedford, they call at London Bridge, Blackfriars, Farringdon and St Pancras,
with excellent connections to the Underground network, with more choice of
lines than Victoria. And the opportunity to view the St Pancras trainshed
and building.

Really nice. I haven't been there for years, since normally I fly to Gatwick
and so Victoria is the train station I use.
