Actually, we have been discussing food poisoning on another list. Some
people swear by Gatorade as a rehydration fluid. Gatorade contains a
dry-cleaning chemical among many other questionable ingredients, artificial
colors and flavors. Just plain sugar-water with salt is the best
rehydration if you should have food poisoning. That's what WHO uses to
rehydrate children and it's simple enough to carry 6 tablespoons of sugar
and 1 teaspoon of salt in a plastic bag ready to mix with one quart of
potable water. I've carried it all over the world and it works.
