Cleaning the chalk board here...
I've got several specific open issues which need to be addressed:
1. Full-size image viewing. Everybody or Registered Users Only? The
disadvantage of Everybody is that once the Google Crawler finds the
site, the full-size images are fair-game for the world to see and use.
The disadvantage of Registered Users Only is that when we link to an
image, we only get the down-sized version until we log in and when you
log in, it jumps you to your own gallery. Personally, I'd rather have
it set to Registered Users Only.
2. Down-sized maximum image height. Right now, I've got the limits set
to 900 pixels long-side. This creates issues on SOME computer screens
as the image height exceeds screen height. But with other viewing
systems (iPad, for example), it's a non-issue. I have yet to see a
consensus on this. No matter what we select, I know that somebody
isn't going to be happy. Personally, I'd rather keep it at 900. Ian
Wilcox' picture is gorgeous on my iPad. I can trim the header down a
bit on the page, that will recover a few pixels on the screen height.
I'm so used to scrolling portrait-oriented pictures that it isn't much
of an issue to me, but we really do need some consensus on this.
3. I was hoping that others would experiment with my sample TOPE
Gallery by replicating an image into it. I know it works fine for my
two sample images and as logged in as either AG Schnozz or as the
admin, but I need a couple more of you to beat on it.
4. Icon visibility. These are GIFs that need to have their color
changed. there is the transparancy channel that has to be maintained
in getting those altered. I'll try to address those whenever I can. If
somebody can do the alterations on those for me, I'll email them to
you for editing.
5. Oh Moosie, Oh, Moooooooosieeeeeeee...
6. Last I checked, it looks like four people registered, but haven't
uploaded a sample image yet.
