I don't know what you were shooting with here but equivalent field of 
view coverage and depth of field can be done on 35mm with a 24mm lens at 
f/8 or f/11 without the need for focus stacking.  Of course, if you're 
shooting with a 4x5 that's a different story... unless you invoke 
Scheimpflug.
