Only in the extremely rare case when the wind is not blowing. BTW,
we've found an interesting side-effect of wind-turbines. The crops
around them are healthier. Evidently, the turbulance off the ends of
the blades keeps the crops stirred up. This has reduced the impact of
bugs and fungus. When the wind appears still at ground level, the
turbines are usually still moving. These giant fan blades will keep
the plants in motion.
The next big advance in wind-turbines, which will counter-act the
above, is the low turbulance blades. This will allow the towers to be
placed closer together. As it is right now, they have to be spaced out
to keep from affecting each other's wind shadows.
