My dad always carried a fairly large bag. He primarily used large
format press photographer cameras using 126 or 620 format film. He later
got a modern large format camera of some sort which still ised 120 or 126
film. The bag was mostly filled with rolls of film.

Myself, virtually all of my photography is nature-related. I use a
Tamrac waist belt, to which is added a medium bag for the camera, extra
memory cards, spare battery, closeup set, and neutral density filters (soon
to be replaced with a light meter). The wide-to-telephoto walkaround zoom
lens is attached to the camera. A UV (general usage) or linear polarizer
(for landscape) is on the lens, depending on what I anticipate. One large
Tamrac MX-5347 lens case for the telephoto, usually the 75-260mm with the UV
and polarizer both attached.

A smaller Tamrac MX-5378 carries the extension tubes, 2X telemacro, and
the linear polarizer for the walkaround lens. A Tamrac filter wallet with
all the temperature correction filters is in the backpack.

At times I might have another filter wallet with a set of B&W filters if
I'm in the mood to do some serious detailed botanical photos.

The lens cases are on the right side, which is handy if I need to keep
close watch on wildlife and not spook it by way of large movements. I lost
an opportunity to photograph a Whitetail Deer last Monday because I took too
long adding the telemacro. It was a sudden opportunty where we were about
50 feet apart, watching each other very closely. It would have been a good
opportunity to have had a 35-135mm one-touch mounted at the ready.

Many years ago I was standing in a running stream and a companion told
me to stop. I looked around and there was a desert bighorn ram with a full
curl about 35 feet away plus three ewes. I had one frame left in the OM-1.
I quickly took that, then very slowly changed film while keeping myself from
being knocked over by the running water. I got eight more shots before it
was all over.
