I agree with you re Question 1, Moose. Having failed to parse the question,
I had to question whether I wanted to pass the exam! And that is my excuse
for not proceeding. Of course I hadn't realised that the formulae were
provided on the last page - makes it all so simple, no? No.

I'm only unsure on 3 - but I could be wrong about others. :-) I guess I
need to look up Maxwell's color matching
experiment.

It appears that writing clear, unambiguous English may not be the prof's
forte.* What the heck does "1. If the reflectance spectrum of an object is
nonzero for some wavelengths that the illumination spectrum is nonzero, the
object will definitely reflect some light." mean?

If a statement is logically without unambiguous meaning, is an answer as to
whether it is true or false meaningful?

One may guess that he meant "1. If the reflectance spectrum of an object is
nonzero for some wavelengths at which the illumination spectrum is nonzero,
the object will definitely reflect some light."

* Well, I've now looked at some of the course material. Pretty well written,
with some nice illustrative applets
