As a general rule, Lightroom is for not only for dealing with more
than one image, but it is also a great program for working on the
entirity of an image. Spot-editing, cloning, masking, etc., are for
Photoshop, but otherwise everything else is pretty much doable in
Lightroom.
You will probably see less gain with CS5 over PSE8, but Lightroom is a
bird of another feather. If you ever deal with more than one picture,
Lightroom has benefit.
