I've just tried the P mode on my E-PL2 and it's a bit of a pain.  The mode 
itself works fine, but the shift works only for the current exposure 
measurement: as soon as you change the scene the shift goes.

A mode has always worked very well for me, requiring a quick change of the 
aperture to adjust the overall setting.

And my Pentacchio has an ISO-priority setting which is fun, especially as noise 
is so very well controlled to pretty high settings.
