0. A 24mm f3.5

Then the others pretty much in the order you have them listed.

I believe you possess a 35 shift (though ownership may be different) and
have put it to good use. A 24 would give you the most new capability.

I think the 90 is a great lens but that may be partly coincidence that the
first few photos I took with it made me very happy (simple portraits). I
think of the 90 as having a special personality rather than just being
technically a great lens.

The 100/2 is an excellent lens (sharp, high contrast) but I haven't taken
any photos with it that made me think of it as having a special personality
(probably not the fault of the lens). You've already written 10,000+ words
about how good your 100/2.8 is so the 100/2 would be at risk of causing
either disappointment or the flood of 20,000+ words about how good it is ...

I always seem to either carry the 35 shift or a 35-xx zoom so I haven't used
the 35/2 enough to have any opinion. The 35/2 is probably the least
expensive f2 Olympus lens... it is probably easy to build and should perform
well.

If you go with a 28/2 be sure the coatings aren't damaged. I think I've seen
more 28/2's with buggered up coatings than any other Zuiko. Others will
surely have different experiences and preferences but the wider the lens the
less important the wide aperture is for me. I guess I don't get up close and
personal enough to get out of the hyperfocal zone of a wide angle. 28mm
although probably the most common wide angle is my least used focal length.

I like Zuikos but the Tamron 400 f4 is the big lens I grab when I'm serious
about using a long telephoto. It works very well with the Olympus 1.4x TC.
The 3.9kg weight of a 350/2.8 vs 2.27kg of the 400/4 is surely part of the
choice but the Tamron performs superbly.

Allow me this moment to dream a bit...

If I were to treat myself to one really special lens, kinda as an
award to myself and as an OM silver anniversary gift what would you
recommend?

1. 90mm F2 macro
2. 100mm F2 telephoto
3. 35mm F2
4. 28mm F2

I'm trying to be halfway reasonable, otherwise I'd be mentioning one
of the "Big Whites".

At issue, though, is that each one of these lenses really is a
duplication of some form to what I currently have. Well, I don't have
a 28mm, but I've got F2.8 lenses covering all the above focal lengths.
I figure that any of the above has still got to be cheeper than buying
a Leica.

Oh, and one other thing... Is it OK for me to think about black-nosed
lenses?
