Well it's official. One more T32 flashgun has bitten the dust! After spending a
lot of time cleaning gunk off terminals and giving it a good spray of contact
cleaner, I dried it off using wife's hairdryer (when she was out) and put in
fresh batteries. Switched it on and instead of a nice high pitched whistle of
the capacitor charging I heard a quiet spluttering/gurgling sound followed
by...NOTHING. Opened the body up, NO sign of burning or corrosion but having
looked at the way components are packed in there, and mindful of John
Hermanson's reply, I am not going any further. i have one working T32, Will
keep
my eyes open for a cheap working spare. it is not the end of the world I have a
number of manual flashes I can fall back on, along with 4or 5 T20,s

I hope it works after you're done. Another problem often found with bad
battery leakage is that the plastic in the battery compartment crumbles
or cracks, the corrosion runs through the wires, through the on-off
switch and into the circuit.
