I've been buying up used Lacie external hard-drives off of the 'bay. So far,
100% success. I'm buying two drives--one for active use, one for off-site
backup. I use firewire for my active drives, USB2 for the off-site backup.
Just copy the contents of the drives to the backup and store at the office
20 miles away.

Not including shipping, I'm averaging $9 USD per drive.
