Mention of searches being redirected makes me very suspicious.  Google
Analytics does not run on your PC, and "sending info to Google Analytics"
sounds like an untruth - which Ghostery might unmask.  I suggest a scan for
malware using Spybot from Safernetworking, and installation of Zone Alarm so
you can see precisely what is trying to use your browser to do what.

Google Analytics is indeed a tool for website owners to monitor traffic.
 Changing browser won't help.

You can add it to your "hosts" file to block the connection see:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm,

or there's a browser plugin called Ghostery - see
