I tried the fare of a pølsevogn when I hitched to Denmark in 1971 as a 16
year-old youth in the school holidays. I was enchanted by the taste of fried
onions, tomato sauce and mustard on a hot dog. I don't suppose that I ate much
else for the week or so that I was in the country ...
