Having just tossed a couple of little stink bombs AG's way, now I
explain and defend him.
Scanning and printing a neg can give very different results, and
generally will. As he was writing about the subtle details of printing
and the resultant print(s), illustrating with a scan of the neg really
misses the point. (He does have a high quality film scanner.)

You still need to provide a decent web repro of the print if you want to
show us the differences.
