FWIW- back in the late 70's I did several shoots for the Washington Army
National Guard at the Yakima Firing Range (think high desert). Someplace I
have several prints that plainly show a mortar rounds in flight from track
mounted 120mm mortars... and as I recall, these were shot with a Hassey 500
- not exactly a shutter speed champ.
