Introduction sort of.
I've been lurking for some time, butting in on occasions and would like
to introduce myself briefly before putting a question to the list.
I've had an OM2 in the past, with a cool 28, a mighty 50 1.4 and a sharp
135, all long gone when the shutter electronics developed some
stubborness not to produce the higher speeds, gone ...
Even though I still keep a battered Leica R4 and glass on the shelf, I
currently shoot mainly, if not exclusively digital, using a Pana L1 to
which I have added Oly zooms, namely 70-300, 50-200 and 7-14.
I know and appreciate my wife's Oly E400 and E510 (standard double lens
kit + macro 35) even though their menu systems fall short of being
satisfactory to me.
I have been considering a G1 (yes), an E3, and lately an E30 in order to
get larger files and of course a better VF than the L1's.
But before proceeding I have a question.
I'd like to know if any E3 successor has been rumoured, scheduled or
announced; I find the E3 VF is what I want, yet, the E30 offers a better
pixel count.
Any insight on a (soon to be) available body that would reconcile their
best(s), or even better?
