I will be traveling to Konstanz Germany via Zurich for a week on Sunday.
This is a business trip so I probably won't have much time to explore,
however, my wife will. Any nice tips would be welcome. Must be a popular
place as we had a difficulty booking a hotel.

Nathan is right, the whole area is very nice and the season is perfect.
I can recommend Schaffausen and the Rhein falls nearby, Stein am Rhein,
the Mainau island and Lindau. I have yet to go to Konstanz, but is on
my short list, maybe next month (it is a 4-5 hours trip from Milan).
