True, it does sound like a bunch of clueless types, but--but--anyone who has
lived on this planet for the past 10 years knows better than to do anyting with
any electronic device, especially with an adhesive. For crying out loud,
remember the guy trying to light his shoe? And he actually had explosives. What
if he'd just been trying to remove some gum? Those passengers and crew would
have been made the butt of jokes, too. But our old friend Richard Reed (SP?)
wasn't trying to remove gum. He was trying to blow up the airplane.
Sorry, but I don't blame anyone associated with metal cylinders hurling through
the air with overreaction against almost anything.
