Even alkalines shouldn't be drained after a few shots.  My experience 
with my 2s (which is what led me to this list) is that alkalines lasted 
about 6 weeks vs 6 months or better for silver.  Hopefully, JH will 
catch up on his list mail shortly and answer this one.
