[OM] Strange CF Card behaviour

I've got a 1GB CF card which I can format in my PC card reader and fill with
files - no problem.  When I put the card in my E-330 or E-510 and attempt to
format it there, the screen comes up with "CARD ERROR !".  If I format the
card in the PC and put it in either camera I get "Card Full".

Any idea how I can get it to work ?
