[OM] Anyone else tried infrared with E3 - and some other pictures

I tried taking some infrared shots with my newly delivered cokin filter, 
I found I had to add approx 5 to 6 stops and I got this

which looks nothing like the nice pictures I have seen on the web

then I saw this - no it wasn't raining and I don't know why this was 
happening as it was fine without the filter and there didn't appear to 
be any dust on it.
