Jim, this appears to be a single-piece adaptor for 42mm screw lenses on 4/3
bodies, which I chanced across.

You will see in the images of the adaptor a scew on the mount face - that
seems not to be a set-screw to join the two halves, but a retainer screw to
allow firm fixing of the lens to the adapter.

Thanks for the link, Charles.  From the photos, these also appear to be
two-piece adapters.  The final line in the comments on the adapters says
that, with heavy lenses, one should support BOTH the camera body and the
lens.  They do appear well made, though more expensive than the one that I
have.
