I started out with a Xerox computer that had two 8-inch floppies.  Next was 
a Zenith, with 5-1/4" floppies. Then, I graduated to the small, hard-cased 
floppy which I just measured as 3-1/2".  I'm sure this is what Andrew refers 
to.
Since I wanted to make "sneaker" transfers between my wife's stand-alone 
machine and my main PC, I spent the few bucks to add the 3-1/2" floppy 
drive.  I might even have another in a junk box, if I could find it.
