  But how far off-site? There was a sad story of a high-tech company in 
New Orleans after the floods hit -- they'd backed everything up from the 
servers in the basement of their building to tapes stored in the 
basement of a totally different building... a block away.

  woops. One of these days I should make sure I back things up to DVD 
and post them to my father -- after any disaster which takes out both 
Calgary and the UK, I suspect backups will be the least of my worries.
