I guess they mean that in comparing a $1700 camera with cameras
ridiculously priced at over $4000. I've seen many images from the D3
including its NR'd raw high ISO performance, and it is definitely not
worth $4000.

The sensor is substantially smaller than the ones in the other two cameras.
