I will add to the chorus on the 50mm, though mine is usually a f1.4 cause
that is my preferred standard lens. I actually have two of the Viv 2x's one
is stock and the other has had the glass removed due to a weird
separation/fungus issue, I use it as a short auto extension tube.

I managed to get a Vivitar 2x macro focusing teleconverter for $15 BIN off
the bay recently. I seem to recall that it was highly regarded here and
couldn't resist the price when I stumbled upon the auction by accident. It
arrived yesterday and appears in fine condition... much better than the
photos indicated.
Any comments on lenses you've found useful or non-useful with this device?
