I wouldn't attempt to print anything that large myself.  That goes 
straight to the lab.  I don't have ready access to anything wider than 
24" and even then I don't do the printing.  It's done for me by a friend.

The 5D will easily make a 30x40 but that's a portrait type print where 
exquisite detail might well not be desired.  Architectural detail might 
be something else.  I haven't done anything that large.  But I have a 
commercial shot (the yards and offices of a trucking firm) that looks 
really great and finely detailed in 20x30.
