I shoot enough portraits that I'm now very accustomed to using it.
Extremely useful. Also, the biggest problem I run into with some
lenses is interference with the tripod-head. The grip adds enough
height to let the shift-lenses actually move.

Being able to shoot for an entire day without ever changing batteries
is a nice benefit too.
