The probably won't work. I don't know about the grip, but the camera bodies
that require the EN-EL3e have circuitry that checks the battery to be sure
you have the correct one inserted. The voltages are the same, and the size
and shape are too. The difference is the EN-EL3e has built in electronics
that keep track of how many times its been charged and some other stuff too
that can be accessed by repair personnel...hence the 3rd contact.
