Actually, GM crops have dramatically reduced our chemical usage. When the plant
can grow its own insecticide, and you can use one relatively safe herbicide
applied twice a season instead of
several far more dangerous herbicides that have to applied for each new weed
that appears, you cut chemical usage, erosion, and fuel use.
