Having gone through an exercise in reverse engineering a lot of the Quantum
cables, with help
from list, there are some subtleties to using Quantum clone cables. I also
have built a number of
cables of my own now and used them on Quantum, permapak jackrabbitt etc.

Many clone cables will work on Quantum and a few won't, even though they work
on the clone vendors
battery pack.

A few real Q cables do not work on clone packs because of differences in the
low voltage output
from a real Quantum pack which are not supported on the clone.

Some of the clone vendors cables will not fit a real quantum pack, even though
the pack will take
and work with real Quantum cables. (because clone cable has an extra pin)

In general many will work in most packs ... but be warned the Quantum's are
more picky about the
cable connections for enabling the hv output.

clone cables are often 50-60% of price of Quantum.

I think some of the clone vendors cables are relabled cables from the well
known third party flash
trigger cable vendor, whose name escapes me for the moment.
