It's really s-i-m-p-l-e. When I first arrived at this List, I contributed
postings concerning my time at Olympus during the film era, which of course
would mean that I would speak of the OM SLRs and Maitani. After all these
were my experiences. I was then told that this was great and many people
wanted to hear about these.
If I were ever told earlier that, no, no one wants to hear about the old
days anymore, I would have shut up and gone on to participate in all things
digital.
In short, I was responding. I played my part. I contributed. I shared.
The term "self-bilge" is unnecessarily coarse and certainly judgemental. I
take offence to it and I'm using this opportunity to let those who wrote
that or agree to it to know that.
I just cannot understand why there are people who find it necessary to judge
characters because I believe that if you do so, you must be beyond judgement
yourself. Perhaps you're perfect. And perhaps you're beyond criticism.
I accept Chuck's comments that for him, it's more important to know what
Olympus can do that will fit his requirements. That is fine.
I would certainly appreciate it if people learn to behave themselves. And if
all that was said in "jest," I didn't find it funny.
