I found this interesting since I didn't think it would be possible to
get "many thousands [of keystrokes] per minute" from a single keyboard.
I tried adjusting the repeat delay and repeat rate of my own keyboard
to go as fast as possible and the best I can achieve is about 1600
keystrokes/minute. This was a non-surprising number since it's about
double the typing rate of the world's fastest typists. Of course, I
have an actual 20 year old IBM keyboard (which I shall never give up).
Do newer keyboards not adhere to the old "typematic" rate standards?
