Why don't you want to incite the natives, just curious?
Why not, let's keep the diatribes on list, makes for more interest.

OM, hey, get over it. "Why you want old camera?" that is the new
Olympus attitude I believe. Somewhere back in the archives.

A number of us have defected to Canon digital. Why not, they
do some things really nice. Nothing will be as intuitive as my
OM4t, but Even Olympus digital is not an intuitive OM4t, with
low light metering, and lenses that have a svelte feeling in the
hands. Now, all the digital zuikos focus with a stepper motor.

You really need to take a look at the lenses and features
that the lenses offer. All digital cameras these days are
going to give some pretty good results. The Canon will
do better than Olympus in image quality in the sensor.

Olympus has really had a free reign to make a whole new
line of lenses. The lenses are where more money is going
to be spent. Do you want IS or not?

If you are in the market for a reduced frame sensor, Nikon
is starting to come to the plate with good stuff also.

My suggestion is to go the bhphotovideo and create several
wishlists of all the lenses you might like to work with. Do you
want macro? shoot fashion? nature, telephoto, IS/VR, weight,
kit size. ... pick some combination of lenses you like and then
buy a camera body to go with those lenses. Keeping in mind
the crop factor and the lenses. It won't be long before the Canon
5D will be priced in the 20D range.

The main advantage a Canon has for an OM shooter is the
ability to use an OM Zuiko on a full frame digital camera.
But that is an over rated feature unless you just cannot give
up that silver nosed 100/2.8. If that is the case, then Canon
is the answer for the OM Zuiko diehard, IMO.

But really, everyone starts with the camera body, but the lenses
are what you become limited by. I'm now addicted to the Canon
IS. 2-3 stops IS, 2 stops in noise. That is a lot of margin. No one
is really going to give good advice as we have all made our
choices and now spend our time justifying them.
