Perhaps "she" complained to her husband one too many times about it rotating 
when he didn't want to be bothered...

It's pretty sad. Probably a dab of rubber cement would have kept it from 
rotating even when the attaching screw was only tight enough to keep from 
falling out.

This tripod block has a hex set screw on it.  So, first the customer
turns the main tripod screw as tight as she can, THEN she wrenches the
set screw tight enough to flex the bottom of the body casting AND renew
the huge dimple in the bottom cover that I had already straightened. It
was wrenched so hard that tripod block itself has a slight bend in it
now. Oh yeah, because a space had formed between body and block, she
took it off, applied a huge gob of silicon rubber seal and then put it
back on.  Silicon squished in through crack on front edge of bottom
cover and got into the release mechanism.
