Doesn't look all that good to me. Take a look at dpreview
<http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/samsungpro815/>.

Noisy above iso 200 (actually, noisy at 200, but...), f4.6 on the long
end, no IS and trouble with AF hunting at the long end except in bright
light means the long zoom will be far less useful that it appears. I'm
no great fan of IS, but if you are going to use a very long fl, and if
you don't have lens and sensor speed, you gotta have it in a camera like
this.

dpreview also says "Of course camera shake is also a major issue given
the lack of an image stabilization system. Surprisingly, camera shake is
even a problem at wider zoom settings, due mainly to the very heavy
lens, which makes single-handed shooting at even fairly high shutter
speeds risky (see the color fringing example below - 100th second at
28mm should be tack sharp, yet there is evidence of motion blurring).
It's worth remembering when using the Pro815 that you probably need a
higher shutter speed than you'd expect unless you have hands as steady
as a gunslinger."

Whether this will be a problem for any particular user is hard to know.

Many sorts of failings in the JPEG output and very slow RAW writing
combined with slow overall operation mean it will be suitable for some
users and drive others crazy.

A design with great ideas/promise that fails in lots of details.

I've been looking at all these super-zoom prosumers as they come around.
None has yet met my criteria and the 815 is particularly below par.

Remember the posts about the SP-500UZ bought on the basis of brand,
features and in the store impression - and unsatisfactory in use.

I think the E-330 may be the real answer, but that will have to wait for
tests on production bodies and more info on the performance of the
18-180 lens.
