The two element macro lenses, sometimes called 'ahromatic,' are far  
superior to the simple, single element dioptre 'filters'. I had a  
test somewhere showing that a Nikon lens performed better with a  
Nikon CU than it did with bellows. They are, however, much more  
expensive.
