Simon,
There will be some here with more political inveestment than I, but I think
you can look at it in this way:
You make a relatively smaller salary with greater taxes, but receive things
as entitlements that we pay for, in some cases rather dearly.
We make, in some cases (not mine), buckets of money, but pay for lots of
things you take for granted.
I know it's more complex than that, but it is a good generalization.
