If you start comparing to computer companies, let's hope that
Olympus isn't synonomous with Osbourne.
Just remember, at one time Lotus 123, DBase III and Wordstar
were the market leaders. As well as IBM and General Motors.
Canon was able to figure out how to make CMOS work. The big lie
is that CMOS is quieter than CCD. They make up for it with a
very good processing engine. I give it two more years and the
CMOS technology will be "old school" and CCD will be king again.
And we'll all be crowing about how wonderful and realistic the
colors are in the latest/greatest 90megapixel 5Ds Mark IX.
In the meantime, Olympus will still be selling the E-1.
