It's a nightmare, if you ask me. I know we have some brave and
knowledgeable folks here on-list who've had great success at the
digital thing, but I still relegate "digital" to a point-and-shoot in
the console of my car. Anything that matters has me pulling out the Oly.

I'll tell you what my biggest issues are with digital right now.
Maybe some of our learned friends here on the list can allay these
fears.

The big one is lenses. I like Zuikos. I like the way they feel in my
hands. I like the optics. I like the selection of lenses available.
Now, I know I could use them on a digital camera, but that's doing
both the Zuiko and the camera disservice, IMO. The camera won't be an
autofocus camera anymore and the Zuiko won't stop down automatically
anymore. Really, it seems like a novelty to be able to put some nice
Zuiko glass on your digi when you have the time to mess with it.

Sensor size is next up. Effective focal length multipliers from 1.5x
to 2x make lens selection nightmarish. It's getting better, but it's
still crazy. Don't want to multiply in your head? Kod@k DCS series
(now discontinued), Cont@x N (now discontinued) or C@non's full-frame
bodies ($8k? Is that about right?). Since the Cont@x is pretty much
not an option, that leaves the DCS or the C@non meaning N!kon or
C@non lenses. Now, I don't really know much about the former, but I
do know that C@non's good glass is really pricey. The 24mm f1.4, for
example, is over $1100. The 85mm f1.2 is $1500. I figured it up once
and just the lenses to equal the glass in my Olympus kit would cost
around $10k for an EOS.
